On the afternoon of June 20th, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Mr. Antoine Colin, Senior Vice President of HP Inc. (USA), responsible for global digital transformation and supply chain.

They plan to invest more aggressively, accelerating technology transfer and innovation. HP aims to increase the production volume of PCs, printers, and introduce new AI-integrated products like laptops.

Prime Minister Chinh appreciated HP’s investment and contributions to Vietnam’s economic development and bilateral relations. He welcomed HP’s expansion plans and suggested they continue dialogues with the Ministry of Finance and other relevant ministries during the creation of guiding documents. The government encourages large-scale, high-tech investments with advanced technology transfers.
The Prime Minister requested HP to expand its investments and encourage other businesses and partners to invest in Vietnam, especially in areas with high cooperation potential and national priorities such as high technology, sustainability, and AI. He also urged HP to advocate for a mutually beneficial tax policy with the US.
Regarding the issue of foreign contractor taxes, the Prime Minister assured that Vietnam’s National Assembly and Government are committed to resolving business obstacles. They are working on legislation that is practical and in line with international norms.
