According to leaked sources, Apple is considering two colors: dark purple and green. Among them, lavender purple is considered the most likely candidate to make it through the final selection. If officially included in the color range, this will be the first time purple has returned to the standard iPhone lineup since the iPhone 14.

Meanwhile, the lavender purple shade that appeared on the iPhone 12 received more praise for its soft and vibrant tone. The introduction of this new color promises to give the iPhone 17 its own unique mark, setting it apart from the current iPhone 16 generation.

This time, the leak comes from Majin Bu, a leaker who has made many correct predictions about Apple’s new products. Therefore, the possibility of Apple choosing to release a new purple or green color still needs to be confirmed in the final production stages, expected to begin at the end of the summer.

In terms of design, the standard iPhone 17 is predicted to not have any significant changes compared to its predecessor. According to analyst Jeff Pu, the phone will feature the new A18 chip, retain 8 GB of RAM, and upgrade the display to 120Hz, replacing the current 60Hz panel. The front camera will also be improved to a 24MP resolution, doubling the 12MP specification of the iPhone 16. Display expert Ross Young added that the iPhone 17’s screen size could slightly increase to 6.3 inches.

Apple typically holds its iPhone launch event during the second week of September each year. This year, industry insiders expect the ceremony to take place on September 9, with pre-orders starting on Friday and official sales beginning a week later.

Color has long been an important part of Apple’s communication strategy. Previously, purple appeared on the iPhone 12 and the luxurious purple version of the iPhone 14 Pro. Light green also created a special visual effect on the iPhone 11. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro is rumored to have a Titan Blue version, described as “irresistible.”

Although nothing has been confirmed, Apple’s experimentation with new colors shows that the company continues to invest heavily in visual elements alongside hardware specifications. A trendy lavender purple or youthful green option, if chosen, will surely be a highlight worth waiting for in this fall’s iPhone collection.
