The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025 is set to rev up in July at the ICE BSD Center (Tangerang). The event promises to bring together leading automotive brands and cutting-edge technologies.

Among the exhibitors, Subaru has confirmed it will unveil an all-new SUV model. At a press conference on June 24, 2025, Subaru Indonesia CEO Arie Christopher teased, “There will be a new model, everyone can try to guess. We can’t announce it officially yet, but it will definitely be a new model, and people can guess.”

Images projected during the press conference hinted at lighting designs resembling those of the sixth-generation Subaru Forester. This further fuels speculation about the debut of the new Forester at GIIAS 2025.

Based on global releases, the new Forester could be offered in three variants: X-Break, Premium, and Sport. The Sport variant embraces a sporty and dynamic aesthetic, whereas the X-Break variant is geared towards off-road capabilities. The Premium variant, on the other hand, targets urban commuters.

The X-Break variant stands out with its extensive range of accessories. Under the hood, the 2025 Subaru Forester is expected to feature a 1.8L turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a hybrid system for enhanced fuel efficiency. The electric motor delivers an impressive 194 horsepower.

There is a possibility that this C-segment SUV will make its way to Vietnam in the near future. With its design updates and substantial upgrades, the Subaru Forester is poised to compete against the likes of the Mazda CX-5, Honda CR-V, Kia Sportage, and Hyundai Tucson.

However, the pricing of the new Forester may be on the higher side, considering that the vehicle will be imported from Japan.
