According to the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security), Ms. Le Thi Thu H. admitted to driving a car with license plate number 30H-458.xx and reversing on the Hanoi – Thai Nguyen highway.
On the morning of June 25, the Traffic Police Division of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police worked with and issued an administrative sanction against a female driver for reversing on the Hanoi – Thai Nguyen highway.
At 2 pm on June 22, through social media monitoring, the Traffic Police Division of Thai Nguyen Provincial Police received a report about a car with license plate number 30H-458.xx reversing on the Hanoi-Thai Nguyen highway (CT07), in Song Cong city, Thai Nguyen province.
Immediately after receiving the report, the leader of the Traffic Police Division directed the Road Traffic Police Team to verify and clarify the case. The result identified that at 9:25 am on June 22, Ms. Le Thi Thu H. (born in 1981, residing in Long Bien, Hanoi) was driving the above-mentioned car, traveling from Hanoi to Thai Nguyen. When she reached Km53+400 (Song Cong intersection), she performed the act of “reversing on the highway.”
On the evening of June 24, at the Traffic Police Division of Thai Nguyen Provincial Police, Ms. Le Thi Thu H. admitted that at the above time, she was driving the car with license plate number 30H-458.xx and wanted to exit at Song Cong intersection but missed the turn, so she reversed on the highway. Ms. Le Thi Thu H. also admitted that her violation endangered traffic safety.
The Traffic Police of Thai Nguyen has issued an administrative sanction against Ms. H. for reversing on the highway.
For this violation, the female driver was fined VND 30,000,000 to VND 40,000,000 and deducted 10 points from her driver’s license according to Decree 168/2024/ND-CP.
According to Decree 168/2024, from January 1, 2025, each driver’s license will have 12 points. If a driver violates traffic rules, these points will be deducted depending on the severity of the violation. When all points are deducted, the driver will no longer be allowed to drive with that license.
To restore the points, the driver whose license has been deducted all points needs to wait for at least six months and take a traffic knowledge test. For motorcycle licenses, only the theoretical exam is required. For car licenses, drivers must take both the theoretical and simulation exams.
People can easily check the remaining points on their driver’s licenses through the VNeID application. The steps to check the driver’s license points on the VNeID application as of 2025 are as follows:
Step 1: Log in to the VNeID application. After logging in, select the “wallet” section.
Step 2: In the “documents” section, click on the “driver’s license” box displayed on the screen and enter the passcode for verification.
Step 3: You will be able to view the document information, including: license number, date of issue, place of issue, validity period, and remaining points.
