On June 25, at the 25th meeting of the Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Council for the 13th term (2021-2026), the issue of temporarily suspended and dissolved enterprises (IEs) was of particular concern to the delegates.

According to the report presented at the meeting, in the first six months of this year, Binh Dinh province had 531 enterprises temporarily suspending their operations and 34 enterprises announcing their dissolution.
Speaking at the conference, delegate Nguyen Van Hung (from Tay Son district) expressed his concern about this situation. “According to the report, we have 700 registered businesses, but also over 500 businesses that have ceased operations or dissolved,” Mr. Hung said. He requested the provincial People’s Committee, departments, and branches to provide further evaluation and find solutions to this issue.

In response to this concern, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Director of the Binh Dinh Provincial Department of Finance, reported that the total number of newly established enterprises in the first six months of this year has increased compared to the same period last year, with approximately 800 new enterprises. Just in June, around 200 new businesses were registered.
“The higher number of newly established enterprises indicates that the province’s investment and business environment is improving. People in Binh Dinh are also becoming more dynamic and adaptable in their business endeavors,” Mr. Hai added. He attributed this positive development partly to Resolution 68 on private economic development, which has infused new vitality into the market.
Regarding the number of enterprises that have ceased operations, Mr. Hai explained that most of them are small-scale, family-owned businesses that have faced challenges related to capital, markets, and the impact of the global economic situation.

“Temporary suspension or dissolution is a normal part of doing business,” Mr. Hai acknowledged. However, he assured that the authorities are not indifferent to this situation. Functional agencies are reviewing specific difficulties and obstacles to provide appropriate support in terms of information, capital, and market connections, he emphasized.
The Director of the Provincial Department of Finance also noted that, with the new momentum and conditions, the currently established enterprises are on a larger scale than before.
