The arrival of the first heavy-lift vessel at Trung Nam Ca Na International Port marks a significant milestone, now officially on the maritime map as a port dedicated to serving industrial equipment.

This development completes the formation of a comprehensive value chain, enhancing competitiveness and enabling domestic and international businesses to optimize their supply chains, reduce costs, and streamline transportation times.

The vessel, ESHIP 1, flying the German flag, recently arrived at Trung Nam Ca Na International Port from Sines Port in Portugal. It carried 51 wind turbine blades and 204 ancillary equipment for the wind power industry, all manufactured by the Enercon Group.

Enercon, a renowned German group, specializes in wind power-related manufacturing and services, with a particular focus on wind turbines. As a leading global manufacturer, Enercon operates factories in multiple countries and offers its services worldwide. This marks the first time that Enercon has chosen Trung Nam Ca Na Port to transport its products to its partners and projects.

This event signifies more than just the arrival of a heavy-lift vessel in 2025; it underscores a strong commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and continuously refining ancillary services. Trung Nam Ca Na International Port is poised to become a prominent industrial port, serving clients worldwide, helping businesses streamline their supply chains, cut costs, and reduce transportation times.

Following its arrival, the 51 wind turbine blades will be transported by SMC, a company that provides comprehensive solutions for large-scale structural installation in the energy sector, heavy industries, transportation infrastructure, and super-heavy cargo transportation.

The successful reception of the first wind power equipment vessel signifies that Trung Nam Ca Na International Port is infrastructure-ready and poised for a new phase of development. It is well-positioned to embrace new projects outlined in the adjusted Power Development Plan 8, including energy infrastructure projects such as the Ca Na LNG Plant, the Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Plant, and the offshore wind system, all of which contribute to the core value chain in the renewable energy sector.

In the context of the adjusted National Power Development Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision toward 2050, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed the development of two inter-regional renewable energy service and industry centers, with Ninh Thuan being one of the proposed locations.

Additionally, the Ninh Thuan – Khanh Hoa region, with its abundant resources, will witness the development of investment projects in construction, real estate, and diverse industries. A thriving industrial hub is expected to emerge, and within this context, the Trung Nam Ca Na Port is poised for further investment and development. It aims to become a super-heavy cargo port, expanding its services to the wind power industry, particularly offshore wind projects, capable of handling components weighing up to 15,000 tons. By doing so, it will establish itself as a critical destination on the international maritime route, elevating Vietnam’s core value and competitiveness on the global maritime map.

Located in Thuong Diem 2 Village, Phuoc Diem 2 Commune, Thuan Nam District, Ninh Thuan Province, the Trung Nam Ca Na International Port boasts a total investment of VND 5,600 billion in its first phase. Developed by the Trung Nam Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, the port covers an area of 85.52 hectares and comprises two wharves capable of accommodating general cargo, containers, and bulk cargo with a capacity of up to 100,000 DWT. The port is currently in the final stages of completing the Ca Na Port Phase 2 (Wharf 1B) to increase its capacity to serve super-heavy cargo.

Enercon, a German company, is renowned for its expertise in manufacturing and supplying wind turbines. Headquartered in Aurich, Niedersachsen, the company is a global leader in the field of renewable energy, particularly wind power. Enercon not only produces equipment but also provides technical services and consulting for wind power projects, ensuring the efficiency and reliability of renewable energy systems.

SMC, the Service and Technical Company, is a pioneer in providing comprehensive solutions for large-scale structural installation in the energy sector, heavy industries, transportation infrastructure, and super-heavy cargo transportation, as well as specialized lifting equipment leasing. Over the past decade, SMC has made its mark on numerous key projects, including onshore and offshore wind power projects, industrial plants, major highways, and large-scale infrastructure developments.
