Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro is set to undergo a significant design overhaul, as hinted at by leaked dummy model images shared by Majin Bu on social media. The images reveal a brand new camera module, adopting a sleek bar design that departs from the traditional protruding camera setup. The entire lens array, flash, and LiDAR sensor are neatly integrated into a horizontal bar across the back, reminiscent of Google Pixel’s aesthetic.
The black prototype showcases a visually striking difference. The camera module now appears more unified and balanced, moving away from the “three-eyed” protrusion of its predecessors. According to 9to5Mac, the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to boast impressive upgrades: a brand new 48MP telephoto lens, multi-camera video capture capabilities, and a front-facing camera boasting a massive 24MP sensor, a significant leap from the current 12MP standard.

This design shift could bring a much-anticipated modern and cohesive look to the iPhone, answering the wishes of users who have long awaited a departure from the familiar camera design language.
However, the tech community is now intrigued by a burning question: Is Apple secretly hiding any unannounced features behind this rearrangement of sensors and flash? Is the relocation of the flash and LiDAR sensor to the right purely aesthetic, or does it pave the way for an unprecedented technology?
All will be revealed come September when the iPhone 17 officially launches. For now, the iPhone community is divided, debating whether this design evolution signifies a bold step forward or an “Android-ification” of Apple’s signature style.
