These shares were purchased from Vietcap during their issuance of 4.5 million ESOP shares at a price of 12,000 VND per share. The ESOP shares from this issuance will be restricted from transfer for one year. It is estimated that the CEO of Vietcap spent approximately 3 billion VND to acquire these shares.

On the stock exchange, VCI shares are currently trading around the price of 36,000 VND per share, a slight increase from the beginning of the year. Vietcap’s market capitalization stands at approximately 25,500 billion VND (~1 billion USD).

In terms of business performance in the first quarter of 2025, Vietcap reported operating revenue of nearly 851 billion VND, a 5.5% increase compared to the same period last year. Among the business segments, proprietary trading contributed the most to revenue with 353 billion VND, a 4.4% increase. Profit from lending and receivables reached 257 billion VND, a nearly 43% increase. After expenses, Vietcap’s pre-tax profit was 355 billion VND, a 56% increase compared to the previous year.

For the full year 2025, Vietcap has set a business plan with a projected total revenue of 4,325 billion VND, a 15% increase compared to 2024. The target for pre-tax profit is 1,420 billion VND, a 30% increase from last year. With these results, the securities company has achieved 25% of its profit target after the first quarter.

As of the end of the first quarter of 2025, Vietcap’s total assets decreased by more than 2,800 billion VND from the beginning of the year to 23,728 billion VND. Loans accounted for the largest proportion of assets, totaling 10,095 billion VND, a decrease of over 1,100 billion VND from the beginning of the year. Within this, margin loans stood at 9,977 billion VND.

In another development, Vietcap was recently suspended from securities depository activities by the Vietnam Securities Depository and Settlement Corporation (VSDC) from June 18 to June 20. This was due to Vietcap receiving two reprimands from VSDC during June 2025 for violations of regulations related to settlement and payment of securities transactions.
