Vietnam’s Real Estate Market Gears Up for Recovery
Economic statistics for the first five months of 2025 from the General Statistics Office show a definite positive trend, with steady growth each month. FDI registered an increase of 51.2%, reaching an estimated $18.39 billion, while realized FDI rose by 7.9%. International visitors totaled 9.2 million, a 21.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Total retail sales of goods and consumer services grew by 9.7%, reaching approximately VND 2,851 billion.
In tandem with the economic recovery, Vietnam’s real estate market is also showing signs of revival after a subdued period. In the first five months, there was a growth in the number of new real estate businesses established and those resuming operations. Specifically, 2,064 new businesses were registered (up 13%) and 2,123 resumed operations (up 39%) compared to the same period in 2024.
Notably, according to Batdongsan.com.vn, there has been a clear recovery in interest in real estate, especially since Q1/2023. Moreover, the macro environment continues to provide favorable conditions for market recovery. In 2025, credit growth is expected to reach 16%, while lending rates for real estate continue to decline, improving capital accessibility and boosting demand for residential and investment properties.
Additionally, the enactment of new laws such as the Land Law, Housing Law, and Real Estate Business Law is expected to establish a more transparent legal framework, attract investment, and professionalize the market.
In this context, the Vietnam PropertyGuru Real Estate Awards continue their mission of honoring pioneering businesses, promoting quality, and innovation in the industry. This year’s edition carries special significance with the introduction of an entirely new category, “People’s Choice Awards,” a first for Vietnam within the PropertyGuru Awards framework.

The inclusion of this category is expected to create a direct link between businesses and customers—those directly experiencing the products and services in the market. It also reflects the consumer-centric trend in modern real estate development.

These entirely new categories for this year are built upon the success of the “People’s Choice Awards” previously implemented in Malaysia and Thailand. The expansion of the awards system also follows the memorable milestone of the 10th season in 2024, which not only honored outstanding achievements of the year but also specially recognized the “Developers of the Decade.”
The Vietnam PropertyGuru Real Estate Awards 2025 will be conducted according to the following important timelines:
August 22, 2025: Registration closes
September 1–18, 2025: Project evaluation
September 22, 2025: Final evaluation of projects
September 22 – October 3, 2025: Voting period for “People’s Choice Awards” opens
October 24, 2025: Gala Night and Awards Ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City
December 12, 2025: Asia Property Awards Grand Final in Bangkok, Thailand
The entries will be evaluated by an independent panel of judges comprising industry leaders. The selection process will be supervised by HLB, a global network of audit and advisory firms, to ensure transparency and fairness. Notably, HLB will also be responsible for auditing the results of the “People’s Choice Awards.”
Winners of the Vietnam PropertyGuru Real Estate Awards will advance to the regional finals – the 20th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards, held in December 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand. This event gathers Asia’s leading real estate developers, offering opportunities for networking, connection, and affirmation of their international standing.
Over the past decade, the Vietnam PropertyGuru Real Estate Awards have continuously expanded and elevated their presence, contributing to the enhancement of real estate development standards in Vietnam.
