This year, Bac Giang province is expected to produce nearly 200,000 tons of lychee, as reported by the provincial portal in 2025.
The strict adherence to VietGAP and GlobalGAP production protocols has resulted in a significant improvement in the quality of this year’s lychee crop. The fruits are aesthetically pleasing, uniformly sized, intensely sweet, and safe for consumption, meeting the requirements for export.
Mr. Le Ba Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Bac Giang province, affirmed: “The quality of Bac Giang lychees this year is higher than last year and can be said to be the best ever.”
These days, the province is bustling with lychee procurement, transportation, and consumption activities, with over 250 weighing stations across districts and towns.

To enhance the value of lychees and expand the market, the province has proactively implemented synchronized trade promotion activities since the beginning of the season, connecting supply and demand and supporting lychee consumption both domestically and abroad.
This year, localities in the province have innovated their promotional strategies by investing in unique and attractive tourism products through the use of information technology and social media platforms (Fanpage, Youtube, Zalo, Facebook, and TikTok). They have also utilized online tours, videos, short clips, and collaborations with content creators for effective communication, creating a strong buzz.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Giang , as of June 26, the province has harvested and consumed more than 103,000 tons of lychees, including 72,700 tons of early-ripening lychees and over 30,600 tons of main-crop lychees. The domestic market consumed about 71,000 tons, mainly through wholesale and retail markets, while exports reached over 32,000 tons.

In the domestic market, Bac Giang also focuses on promoting lychee consumption in populous areas such as Hanoi.
Bac Giang has organized promotional and sales events for lychees during the “Bac Giang Lychee Week” at apartment complexes, large urban areas, the Ho Guom walking street, and other suitable locations in the city. The province has also connected with supermarkets, trade centers, and online agricultural product sales channels in Hanoi to distribute Bac Giang lychees.
In terms of export markets, China remains the traditional market, accounting for more than 95% of Vietnam’s total exports. At the same time, Bac Giang is also expanding exports to premium markets such as the US, Japan, Canada, Australia, EU countries, the Middle East, and others.
Customs clearance for lychees at the border gates of Lang Son and Lao Cai provinces is proceeding smoothly, with most lychees being exported on the same day of arrival. The daily export volume is increasing, and lychee trucks are given priority, ensuring a smooth and quick process.
In addition to harvesting, many cooperatives in the province also organize tours to explore the lychee growing areas and traditional craft villages. Besides the experience, tourists also buy lychees as souvenirs, contributing to a new and sustainable direction for Bac Giang’s economy.
