Vingroup Vice Chairman and CEO Nguyen Viet Quang shared that within just seven months since its inception, VinFast has completed and operated a second modern electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Vietnam. This sets a record for the completion speed of a factory and once again clearly demonstrates the spirit of “Speed – Determination – Effectiveness.”
The Vung Ang electric car factory is the second production base to officially commence operations and the fifth project in the system of factories that VinFast is developing globally. With a construction and installation period of less than seven months, VinFast Hanoi is recognized as one of the fastest-completed automobile factories in the world (as of now).
Accordingly, the VinFast Hanoi electric car factory spans 360,000 square meters and comprises main workshops for body welding, painting, assembly, and numerous modern auxiliary areas. The production line is highly automated and operates according to strict international standards for quality management, environmental protection, and the automotive industry’s global norms.
Additionally, an auxiliary factory cluster spanning 240,000 square meters is also under construction and will continue to expand in the coming years.

VinFast Hanoi is equipped with one of the most modern production lines in Southeast Asia, featuring a high level of automation and incorporating advanced technology from leading global partners such as ABB, DÜRR, FANUC, and SIEMENS. The entire production process within the factory strictly adheres to international standards, including ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), and IATF 16949 (International Automotive Quality Management System).
In the initial phase, the factory is designed with a capacity of approximately 200,000 vehicles per year, equivalent to an average output of 35 cars per hour. In the future, the factory will continue to expand to increase capacity and meet market demands.
Notably, in the first phase, to optimize the production line, the VinFast Hanoi factory will focus on manufacturing small urban electric vehicles such as VF 3, Minio Green, EC Van, and several new models in the development pipeline. The products from the VinFast Hanoi factory will not only serve the domestic market but also aim for export to international markets.

Furthermore, the factory is expected to generate approximately 6,000 direct jobs in the initial phase and can expand its workforce to up to 15,000 people in the future, contributing to employment, and promoting social welfare in the region. The presence of VinFast Hanoi also serves as a catalyst to attract partner enterprises to build factories in the industrial park, forming a synchronized supply chain, and aiming to increase the localization rate of electric vehicles to over 80% by 2026.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice Chairman and CEO of Vingroup, stated that the inauguration of the VinFast Hanoi factory marks a significant milestone in VinFast’s long-term development strategy and global production expansion.
“Once operational, VinFast Hanoi will contribute to VinFast’s goal of producing one million electric vehicles annually to meet the growing demands of domestic and overseas markets,” said Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang. “This clearly demonstrates our capability in technology mastery, autonomous production, and our pioneering vision in promoting sustainable transportation in Vietnam and worldwide.”
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Vo Trong Hai, Chairman of the Ha Tinh Provincial People’s Committee, pledged that the province would closely coordinate with Vingroup and investors to promptly address any difficulties and obstacles to ensure the smooth implementation and operation of the project.
Embracing the spirit of sustainable development, “For a Green Vietnam,” VinFast has oriented the operation of this factory towards a green, clean, and efficient model by utilizing renewable energy, stringent emission control, material recycling, and gradually applying AI in management and production error detection.

Currently, VinFast has five factories under development in Vietnam, the United States, India, and Indonesia. In addition to the two operational factories in Vietnam, VinFast Hai Phong and VinFast Hanoi, the factories in India and Indonesia are expected to be inaugurated soon to cater to strategic international markets.
In the first five months of this year, VinFast emerged as the leading automotive brand in Vietnam, with over 56,000 vehicles sold. Among them, the VF 3, VF 5, and VF 6 models are the best-selling products in the market. Moreover, VinFast electric vehicles are also gaining popularity among consumers in various international markets, including the Philippines and Indonesia.
