The Customs Department has sent a document to the State Treasury – Ministry of Finance, Tax Department – Ministry of Finance, Department of Information Technology and Digital Transformation – Ministry of Finance; commercial banks; and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
According to the announcement, starting from June 30th, the customs authority will implement a new information technology system to meet the requirements of the new organizational structure. To prepare for this transition, the Customs Department will temporarily suspend the acceptance of customs declarations from 10 PM on June 30th to 5 AM on July 1st.
This suspension may impact the import and export activities of individuals and businesses. Therefore, the Customs Department would like to inform the aforementioned organizations to be aware and proactively arrange their work accordingly.

According to the Customs Department, they have recently launched the “Viet Nam Customs Data” application to replace traditional paper reports. The target users of this application are leaders and managers at various levels, from central to local, who need import and export statistics for policy formulation, direction, and administration.
The application is designed to provide more timely data, allowing users to access information anytime, anywhere. The data is presented in diverse formats and visual charts for easy monitoring, analysis, and identification of critical insights. Currently, the application provides daily and weekly data, as well as cumulative figures up to the reporting date.
During its operation, the “Viet Nam Customs Data” application will continue to be adjusted and refined according to the macro-management orientation of each period. These improvements aim to closely serve the management and administration requirements and meet the increasing workload of the customs sector due to the dynamic changes in the domestic and global economy.
