The high-speed North-South railway project, spanning 1,541 km, commences at the Ngoc Hoi Station in Hanoi and terminates at the Thu Thiem Station in Ho Chi Minh City.

The route traverses 20 provinces and cities, reducing to 15 upon administrative reorganization. The line includes 23 stations, five of which are dedicated to freight.

The North-South high-speed railway, in the Ha Tinh province, stretches approximately 103 km across eight localities under the three-tier government model. These include Duc Tho, Can Loc, Thach Ha, Cam Xuyen, Ky Anh, Ky Anh Town, Hong Linh Town, and Ha Tinh City. With the implementation of the two-tier government model from July 1, the project will pass through 18 wards and five communes.

According to preliminary estimates, Ha Tinh will need to acquire and compensate for nearly 765 hectares of land, including 84 hectares of residential land. The province plans to construct approximately 35 resettlement areas to relocate 1,314 households.

In Duc Tho district, for instance, there are 10 households expected to be relocated, and the plan is to build two resettlement areas.

In Hong Linh Town, 196 households will be resettled, and four areas are proposed for their relocation.

Can Loc district will see the resettlement of 96 households, and three areas are planned for this purpose.

Thach Ha district, with 378 households to be relocated, will have nine resettlement areas constructed.

Ha Tinh City, with 198 households affected, will establish three resettlement areas.

Cam Xuyen district, with 233 households, will build nine resettlement areas to accommodate them.

The relocation of 163 households in Ky Anh district will be facilitated by the development of five resettlement areas.

Finally, in Ky Anh Town, 40 households will be resettled in one designated area.

Ha Tinh province has proposed selecting one resettlement area in advance to expedite the necessary procedures and preparations for a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for August 19. This area, spanning approximately six hectares, predominantly comprises publicly owned land, which will streamline the construction process.

For the remaining resettlement areas, the localities through which the project passes will collaborate closely with relevant departments to finalize the requisite procedures. Construction of these areas is slated to commence before October 2025.

The completion deadline for these resettlement areas is set for June 30, 2026, allowing for the relocation of affected households. The entire process is expected to conclude by December 2026.
