On June 30th afternoon, Honda Vietnam (HVN) celebrated the production of its 40 millionth vehicle at its Vinh Phuc factory. The 40 millionth vehicle is a special edition Honda Vision scooter, featuring a unique green color and a “40 million units” decal to commemorate this milestone.

This milestone extends Honda Vietnam’s growth trajectory, from producing 5 million vehicles in 2008 to 40 million in 2025. It comes as the domestic motorcycle market is shifting towards electrification and facing intensified competition from both local and international brands.

Honda Vietnam’s first factory began operations in 1997 with an annual capacity of 500,000 units. Today, the company has expanded to three modern motorcycle factories in Vinh Phuc and Ha Nam provinces, with a combined annual capacity of 2.75 million vehicles.

HVN not only meets domestic demand with a diverse range of products, from scooters to electric vehicles, but also exports “Made in Vietnam” motorcycles and parts to 23 countries and territories, adhering to international quality standards. This expansion has brought joy to customers worldwide.

Alongside production growth, HVN continuously integrates advanced technologies and safety features into its products, including ABS brakes and Smart Key systems, as well as the eSP+ 4-valve engine, known for its smooth performance, fuel efficiency, and environmental friendliness.

As of May 2025, Honda Vietnam has achieved approximately 96% localization in its motorcycle production. The company maintains partnerships with 175 domestic suppliers and nearly 800 HEAD dealerships, providing direct and indirect employment to millions.

In addition to serving the domestic market, Honda Vietnam has exported a total of 305,000 motorcycles and parts, valued at 635 million USD. Notably, some of these exports meet the stringent quality standards of demanding markets like Japan and Europe.

Keeping up with energy transition trends and emission reduction requirements, Honda Vietnam has introduced electric vehicles such as the ICON e: and CUV e: to the market. The company is also investing in production line improvements to reduce environmental impact.
