City Announces Merger of Administrative Units and Introduces New Leadership
On the morning of June 30th, the HCMC Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee held a ceremony to announce the National Assembly’s resolutions and decisions on the merger of administrative units at the district and communal levels, the termination of operations of administrative units at the provincial level, and the establishment of Party organizations, and the appointment of key leaders for the new merged units.
The conference announced the decision of the HCMC Party Committee to establish Party organizations for the 168 merged wards, communes, and special districts. It also announced decisions on the appointment of the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, and Deputy Secretary; the establishment and appointment of the Inspection Commission and its Chairman; and the appointment of the Chairman and Vice Chairpersons of the People’s Committee and the Fatherland Front Committee for the merged units.
