According to the provincial authorities, the area of forest land converted for other purposes is over 57 hectares. This includes 16.2 hectares of forest outside the forestry planning with a protective forest origin and 40.8 hectares of forest outside the planning with a production forest origin.
The People’s Committee of Quang Binh province has instructed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to closely monitor and supervise the process of forest land use conversion, ensuring compliance with legal regulations. At the same time, relevant agencies are required to review and implement land use planning and plans to ensure synchronization with forest land use conversion.
The forest owner is responsible for timber exploitation on the converted forest land in accordance with regulations. Additionally, the province has also approved a decision to convert 12.6 hectares of forest land for the FLC Quang Binh project, which includes a conference center, hotel, resort, and villas.
The FLC Hai Ninh villa project is part of the larger FLC Quang Binh eco-tourism resort complex, a development by the FLC Group, covering nearly 2,000 hectares with an estimated investment of VND 20,000 billion. The first phase of the project, which included hotels, resorts, and the largest interconnected golf course in Southeast Asia, was commenced in March 2016.
In the second phase, FLC Quang Binh has completed the infrastructure and proceeded with the construction of residential areas, villas, and an international convention center.
