On June 30, at the Nghe An Province Labor Culture House, the Nghe An People’s Committee, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, organized the “German Career Orientation Bus 2025” program. This event offered a vivid experiential space and provided practical information about studying, vocational training, employment, and life in Germany for hundreds of young people in the area.
The German Career Orientation Bus is part of a series of activities celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany (1975–2025). It aims to promote bilateral cooperation in the field of labor migration and expand international job opportunities for young Vietnamese workers.

According to the representative of the Nghe An Department of Foreign Affairs, with over 1.6 million people of working age, Nghe An has a large potential workforce. In recent years, the province has implemented many career guidance, vocational training, and job creation policies, especially in FDI enterprises and the private economic sector.
However, the provincial labor market has not yet fully met the needs of young workers seeking high-income jobs and a professional working environment. Many young people are tending to look for opportunities abroad, with Germany being a popular choice.
At the event, students, parents, and teachers received direct counseling on practical topics such as legal forms of labor migration to Germany, vocational study programs in Germany or German-standard technical training in Vietnam, study and living conditions and scholarship opportunities in Germany, the path to learning German and necessary certificates, and job prospects for skilled workers in Germany in technical fields, healthcare, hospitality, and technology.

The program also offered unique experiential activities such as exploring Germany through virtual reality (VR) technology, touring a simulated student dormitory, indulging in German cuisine, and interacting with successful alumni who studied in Germany…
“On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, we want to inspire Vietnamese youth and affirm that Germany is always ready to welcome the talent, ideas, and aspirations of Vietnamese people – today and in the future,” said Simon Kreye, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the German Embassy in Hanoi.
The German Career Orientation Bus project, implemented in collaboration with GIZ, is a first-time initiative in Vietnam, taking the form of a large-scale, nationwide roadshow. The project has 19 stops in 16 provinces and cities, with Nghe An being one of the first stations.
With a learner-centric approach, the project effectively connects the government, schools, and businesses to promote a German-standard vocational education ecosystem in Vietnam while enhancing the integration capacity of young workers.

The German side also affirmed its long-term commitment to supporting Vietnam, and Nghe An in particular, in developing high-quality human resources through cooperative training programs, career counseling, and creating access to the international labor market safely and sustainably.
The event not only broadened the knowledge of the participants but also created additional motivation for the authorities and social organizations to invest more in vocational training and effective labor export orientation.

After Nghe An, the German Career Orientation Bus 2025 will continue to Ha Tinh province in early July with two main activities at the Vietnam-Germany College of Technology and the Ky Anh Job Exchange. These stops promise to be vibrant destinations in the journey of connecting opportunities and unleashing the potential of Vietnamese youth.
