
Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin), a state-owned enterprise, specializes in coal and mineral mining and processing in Vietnam.
According to the online conference on directing production in July 2025, the group has achieved notable accomplishments in the first half of the year despite challenges.
In terms of coal production, an estimated 3.24 million tons of raw coal were produced in June, exceeding the plan by 4.6%. For the first six months, the estimated output was 21.09 million tons, which was 55.4% of the annual plan and 3.2% higher than the same period last year. Most units met or surpassed their coal mining targets for June 2025.
An estimated 3.4 million tons of clean coal were produced in June, bringing the six-month total to 20.82 million tons, or 56.6% of the annual plan, and matching the previous year’s figure.
Coal consumption in June is estimated at 3.5 million tons, with approximately 2.95 million tons supplied to power generation. For the first six months, coal supply for power generation is estimated at 21.48 million tons.

An estimated 14.18 million cubic meters of earth and rock were excavated in June, exceeding the monthly plan by 9.2%. For the first six months, the estimated volume of excavated earth and rock was 83.52 million cubic meters, or 54.5% of the annual plan, a 107.2% increase over the same period last year.
Alumina production in June is estimated at 133,750 tons, or 107% of the plan. The six-month total is estimated at 756,870 tons, or 58.2% of the annual plan, and matches the previous year’s figure.
Alumina consumption is estimated at 173,380 tons, or 145.8% of the plan. For the first six months, consumption is estimated at 766,000 tons, or 58.9% of the annual plan, and 3.5% higher than the same period last year.

Key indicators of Vinacomin.
Explosive production in June is estimated at 6,400 tons, meeting the monthly target. For the first six months, explosive production is estimated at 41,870 tons, or 55% of the annual plan.
Explosive supply in June is estimated at 9,600 tons, exceeding the plan by 4.3%. For the first six months, the total consumption is estimated at 57,500 tons. Ammonium nitrate production in June is estimated at 12,000 tons, while consumption is estimated at 15,800 tons.
In terms of power generation, an estimated 868 million kWh of electricity was produced in June. For the first six months, electricity production is estimated at 5.76 billion kWh, or 57.2% of the annual plan, an increase of 111.5% over the same period last year.
The cumulative revenue for the first six months is estimated at VND 88,190 billion.

For July, Vinacomin aims to produce 2.6 million tons of raw coal and 2.84 million tons of clean coal. Coal consumption is expected to reach 3.78 million tons. Other targets include excavating 21,390 meters of tunnels, moving 11 million cubic meters of earth and rock, and producing and consuming 120,000 tons of alumina.
The July 2025 electricity production and consumption target is set at 816 million kWh. Explosive production is targeted at 6,300 tons, with a supply of 9,500 tons. Ammonium nitrate production and consumption targets are set at 16,000 tons. The consolidated revenue for the group in July is projected to reach VND 13,800 billion.
