The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has just issued a decision on the investment policy for the project to complete the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway and National Highway 50 interchange (Binh Chanh district).
The project will construct an interchange with a total route length of approximately 1,300 m (excluding the interchange section belonging to phase 1 of the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway project). The total investment capital is 591 billion VND, funded by the Ho Chi Minh City budget.
According to the plan, Ho Chi Minh City will approve the investment policy in June 2025; establish and approve the feasibility study report in Q3 2025. The construction is expected to commence in Q4 2025 and be completed between Q2 and Q4 2026.

Perspective of the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway Interchange with National Highway 50 (Department of Construction)
The Traffic Project Management Board is assigned as the investor.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, investing in the completion of this interchange will ensure consistency with the approved planning and complete the cross-section of National Highway 50. Once the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway and National Highway 50 interchange is operational, it will help alleviate traffic congestion in the southern area of the city.
To reduce traffic congestion at the southern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, several projects are underway, including the expansion and upgrade of National Highway 50 with a route length of over 8.5 km. About 4 km of this will be a new parallel road, and the remaining 4.5 km will be an upgrade of the existing route. The project is expected to be completed by December 31, 2025.
In addition to the National Highway 50 upgrade and expansion project, Ho Chi Minh City has also put into use the Nguyen Van Linh – Nguyen Huu Tho underground interchange project (in District 7 and Binh Chanh district). These constructions are expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion in the southern gateway of the city.
