Apple is rumored to be gearing up to unveil its thinnest iPhone yet, the iPhone 17 Air, at its annual event in September 2025. This all-new model is expected to replace the Plus line and mark a design shift in this year’s iPhone lineup.
According to leaks from Tom’s Guide and MajinBu, the iPhone 17 Air will boast an impressive thickness of just 5.5mm, surpassing the Galaxy S25 Edge (5.8mm) and significantly thinner than the iPhone 16 (7.8mm). To achieve this super-slim design, Apple may have utilized a lightweight aluminum-titanium alloy body coupled with a roughly 2,900mAh battery.

The flat back without curved edges gives it a modern and seamless look. The aluminum-titanium alloy delivers a sturdy yet lightweight construction, maintaining the “Air” feel true to its name. (Image: MajinBu)

The second major highlight is the rear camera setup. Instead of a cluster of 2-3 lenses in the corner, the iPhone 17 Air opts for simplicity with a single 48MP wide-angle camera positioned in the center of the back, housed within a distinctive raised strip that runs almost to the top edge. This strip is not only eye-catching but also highly recognizable, setting this iPhone apart from all its predecessors. (Image: MajinBu)

The camera strip is slightly raised and rounded at the ends, creating a soft and balanced look. The large lens is positioned to the left, accompanied by a flash and a microphone. The overall design is minimalist yet intriguing, offering a sleek, modern, and unconventional aesthetic. (Image: MacRumors)

The iPhone 17 Air is also expected to come in a range of sophisticated color options. Leaked images suggest at least four to five color choices, including shades of black-gray, white, yellow, and blue, catering to the preferences of young consumers. In terms of specifications, the iPhone 17 Air is anticipated to feature a 6.6-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, the latest A19 chip, and 12GB of RAM. (Image: MajinBu)
While official pricing details are yet to be announced, rumors suggest that the iPhone 17 Air could maintain the starting price of $899 (approximately 23.5 million VND) like the iPhone 16 Plus. However, if Apple decides to adjust the pricing of the entire lineup, specifically increasing the price of the iPhone 17 Pro to $1,099 (around 28.8 million VND), then the Air model might be priced at $999 (approximately 26.2 million VND).
Apple is expected to host the iPhone 17 series launch event in September. Among them, the iPhone 17 Air is likely to steal the spotlight due to its unprecedented thinness in iPhone history, marking Apple’s next bold step in aesthetics and technology.
