On February 5, the People’s Committee of District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, provided an update on the progress of compensation, support, and resettlement work at the Ben Thanh – Tham Luong Metro Project in the district.
Accordingly, the Compensation, Support, and Resettlement Council of the project has organized dialogues and explanations for differing opinions and other opinions of the residents. At the same time, they have compiled residents’ contributions to the draft Compensation, Support, and Resettlement Policy of the project, the draft Compensation, Support, and Resettlement Plan, and the draft Training and Job Transition Plan and Support Plan.
Compiling opinions aims to provide a complete basis for the approved plans by the People’s Committee of District 3.
District 3 has obtained opinions on 108 out of 112 land reclamation cases (14 organizations and 94 households). As for the remaining 4 exceptional cases with complications, opinions from relevant departments are being collected and requested, thus they have not yet been evaluated.
Out of the 112 cases, 74 cases (14 organizations and 60 households) agreed with the draft Compensation, Support, and Resettlement Plan.
12 households disagreed with the draft Compensation, Support, and Resettlement Plan. 22 households had different opinions on the draft Compensation, Support, and Resettlement Plan.
The main objections were mainly about the current land compensation price, which is lower than the market price, and they request the compensation price to be 350,000,000 VND/sqm. In addition, the price appraisal should have opinions from residents to ensure fairness and transparency…
The Executive Committee of District Party Committee, People’s Committee of District 3, and the Project Steering Committee 2 Metro Project have held numerous meetings to direct and assign tasks to the Compensation, Support, and Resettlement Council of the project, and the Compensation Board for land clearance, District 3, and other related units to coordinate and actively implement the project’s progress.
The People’s Committee of District 3 has issued decisions on land reclamation and approved the Compensation, Support, and Resettlement Plan when the state reclaimed the land to implement the Metro 2 project in District 3 for 108 out of 112 cases.
In the coming time, District 3 will distribute and deliver the decisions to residents and cooperate with the City State Treasury and District 3 State Treasury to ensure proper payment as regulated.
After that, the handover of the reclaimed land and clearance will be carried out between the People’s Committee of District 3 and the Urban Railway Management Board of the city.
