Can the Ambassador share his feelings about Tet in Vietnam?

Tet is a wonderful time. I love being here during Tet, as well as any time of the year, but Tet has a special feeling to it. Everyone is happy and busy. Everyone is thinking about Tet, thinking about family and wishing for health and prosperity in the new year. It’s a wonderful feeling.

Which traditional activity during Tet do you enjoy the most?

Among the traditional activities during Tet, I personally enjoy Calligraphy the most. Writing Calligraphy is difficult, but it is also a way to express good wishes in a concise and compact manner. And Calligraphy is also a form of creativity. It’s great.

I enjoy the atmosphere during Tet, I like wrapping Banh Chung, observing people’s anticipation for the good things in the coming year, and gathering with family. I am also very happy to feel the joy and the warm hospitality from everyone.

In Vietnam, the first visitor of the year is considered very important as they bring joy and luck to the host. Do you have any plans to welcome any guests in the new year?

After Tet, I will invite my family from Israel to visit, and it will be a very good start to the year because we will enjoy this festival together. We will also appreciate the beautiful places, friendly people, and being together as a family, wishing for peace, luck, and prosperity.

We truly hope that this year will bring more peace, health, and prosperity to Vietnam, the Vietnamese people, as well as to Israel and the world.

What do you expect for the cooperation between the two countries in the coming year and in the future?

In terms of cooperation between Vietnam and Israel, the past year has been very good in the bilateral relationship between the two countries. We have signed a free trade agreement, had high-level visits, and the number of tourists has increased…

The trade volume is very high, and we are collaborating with various organizations in Vietnam, as well as with the government. And I hope that the next year will continue to progress and even develop further.

2023 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Therefore, it is the “ripe fruit” in the 30-year relationship between Vietnam and Israel, with a lot of potential, such as in commerce, science and technology, innovation, and agriculture. There are many areas in which we are cooperating and Vietnam has a lot of great ideas and talents. So, the opportunity for a good relationship is still wide open, and we are working with the people and government of Vietnam to make it happen.
