Tan Son Nhat Airport is quite “unusual” on the 30th Lunar New Year.

On the morning of February 9th (the 30th day of Tet), both the inside and outside areas of Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City were smooth and clear. On the final day of the Year of the Cat, the airport is expected to operate 655 flights with over 100,000 passengers.

From early morning on February 9th (the 30th day of the Lunar New Year), people rushed to the domestic terminal – Tan Son Nhat International Airport to prepare to go home and celebrate the Lunar New Year with their families.

On the last day of the Year of the Cat, Tan Son Nhat International Airport is expected to operate 655 flights with over 100,000 passengers, a decrease of nearly 22,000 passengers compared to the previous day. (The image shows the check-in area at the domestic terminal B at 5am)

In addition, compared to the peak on the 28th day of the Lunar New Year (nearly 134,000 passengers), the number of passengers arriving and departing at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on the 30th day of the Lunar New Year is expected to decrease by nearly 34,000 passengers.

During the peak hours of the morning of the 30th day of the Lunar New Year, many areas at the domestic terminal unexpectedly became spacious.

Some check-in counters at airlines in the domestic terminal on the morning of the 30th day of the Lunar New Year were unexpectedly spacious.

Some passengers took advantage of the time to rest before their flights.

The waiting area for boarding the flights was also very empty.

Many areas were spacious with empty seats in the waiting area.

The area outside the domestic terminal was much more spacious than previous peak days.

The area for taxis in front of the domestic terminal is tidy and organized.

The area outside the international terminal was also very spacious on the morning of the 30th day of the Lunar New Year.

Decreased number of passengers, bus stations, train stations are all spacious

On February 9th, the estimated number of passengers from Saigon Railway Station (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City) is more than 1,800. The day before, on the peak day of the 28th day of the Lunar New Year, there were 18 departures with more than 5,600 passengers from Saigon Railway Station.

Similarly, the Western Bus Station (Binh Tan District) is expected to operate 1,190 coaches with nearly 38,000 passengers. The number of passengers has decreased significantly compared to the 28th day of the Lunar New Year (63,000 passengers).

Due to the decreased number of passengers, bus stations, railway stations, and entrances to Ho Chi Minh City are all spacious on the morning of the 30th day of the Lunar New Year.
