According to the People’s Committee of Binh Phuoc province, in 2024, the province will continue to face many difficulties and challenges due to the complex and ever-changing global and regional situation. However, with the efforts of the provincial leadership and the entire political system, Binh Phuoc province is determined to make strong changes for robust development in 2024.

Determination to achieve the targets in 2024

In terms of economic targets, the province strives to increase gross regional domestic product (GRDP) on the provincial territory by 8% – 8.5% compared to 2023. Agriculture, forestry, and fisheries account for 23.4%, industry and construction 43.77%, services 32.83%, and per capita GRDP reaches 100 million VND (an increase of 6.5% compared to 2023).

Total social investment capital is 38,500 billion VND (an increase of 10% compared to 2023), export turnover is 4.56 billion USD (an increase of 9% compared to 2023). The budget revenue is 12,739 billion 600 million VND (an increase of 6.29% compared to 2023). Domestic investment attraction is 7,000 billion VND (an increase of 7.7% compared to 2023); foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction is 400 million USD…

In addition to restructuring the economy associated with innovation, Binh Phuoc province also focuses on investing in infrastructure systems, especially regional connectivity transport projects, urban infrastructure, and digital transformation infrastructure.

Accelerate the implementation of investment procedures to soon deploy regional connectivity transport projects such as Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) – Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) highway, Ho Chi Minh City – Thu Dau Mot – Chon Thanh highway, Dong Phu – Binh Duong road.

Implement well Resolution No. 06-NQ/BCT dated January 24, 2022 of the Politburo on planning, construction, management, and sustainable development of Vietnamese urban areas until 2030, vision to 2045; Development plan for Binh Phuoc urban areas in the period 2021-2025, orientation to 2030 and upgrading plan for standard communes to grade V urban areas in the period 2021-2030.

Determined to effectively implement the project “Investment in equipment, software, and databases serving the construction of digital government, smart localities in Binh Phuoc province in the period 2022-2025. Cooperate with telecommunications groups to develop digital infrastructure, install 5G network in the province.

Ensure the successful implementation of budget revenue tasks and promote administrative reform, digital transformation, and improvement of the investment and business environment.

Synchronize policies and solutions to develop human resources, especially high-quality human resources associated with promoting research and development of science and technology applications, innovation, and start-up movement.

In addition, it is necessary to strengthen land management, mineral resources, environmental protection, and proactive response to climate change.

Rectify and strengthen land management and build a land information system. Strengthen the work of granting certificates of land use rights for agricultural land after separating them from forest land following the planning of the three types of forests in the province.

Effectively implement the management of mineral resources; overcome the illegal exploitation of minerals (land filling, orphan rocks, construction stones…). Strictly implement the auction of mineral exploitation rights according to regulations.

Dong Xoai city striving for progress

Dong Xoai city was established on November 30, 2018, according to Resolution No. 587/NQ-UBTVQH14 dated October 16, 2018, by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly. After 6 years, the authorities and people of Dong Xoai city have made efforts to build a city that develops in the direction of “modern, ecological, and smart”.

Dong Xoai City has a natural area of 167.32 km2, a population of 150,052 people, and 8 administrative units including 6 wards and 2 communes.

According to the leaders of Dong Xoai city, in the early days of its establishment, the city faced many difficulties and challenges, with an economic growth rate of only 16.5%.

With breakthrough solutions, the leaders of Dong Xoai city have gradually developed the city. In recent years, the leaders of Dong Xoai city have continued to promote administrative reform, information technology application, digital transformation, and creating a favorable business environment to attract investment…

The achieved results are annual economic growth rate maintained at the level of 15.02%/year. In 2023, the proportion of trade and services accounts for 54.28%, industry and construction account for 41.14%, and agriculture accounts for only 4.58%. The total budget revenue generated in the city is about 925.5 billion VND (an increase of 34% compared to 2018), and per capita income is 115 million VND/year (an increase of 55% compared to 2018).

With the achieved results, on December 1, 2022, Dong Xoai City was voted and awarded the certificate for “Smart City” in the field of “Smart Operation and Management” by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA).

Up to now, Dong Xoai City has become a young city with increasingly synchronized and modern infrastructure. For example, Dong Xoai City has inaugurated and effectively put into use Suoi Cam Lake Park, Xoai Park, and built embankments along Dong Tien Stream, Tam Vong Stream, and most recently, the city square…

At the ceremony to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the establishment of Dong Xoai City, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dong Xoai City Ha Anh Dung said that since 2022, Dong Xoai City has autonomously balanced budget revenues and expenditures. From 2018 to now, Dong Xoai City has upgraded and renovated 69 traffic routes with a total length of over 180 km. In 2020, Dong Xoai City was the first district-level unit in Binh Phuoc province to be recognized by the Government as having completed the national target program for building new rural areas and advanced new rural areas.

By the end of 2022, Dong Xoai City is the first district-level unit in the province without poor households according to the new criteria.
