Saigon Co.op Welcomes 20 Million Customers for Tet Giap Thin 2024

On the morning of 15 February 2024 (the 6th day of the Lunar New Year, the Year of the Horse), Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Nguyen Van Dung, along with other leaders of departments, paid a visit to Saigon Co.op, a cooperative trade union, to offer Lunar New Year greetings to all the staff and employees.

Mr. Pham Trung Kien – Deputy General Director of Saigon Co.op has reported the achievements of the company during the recent Lunar New Year season. According to the report, Saigon Co.op’s distribution system, including Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co.op Smile, Cheers, Finelife, Sense City, and SenseMarket, welcomed over 20 million visitors for shopping and sightseeing in the 8-week Tet trading period. The company achieved positive results during the Tet business season, with online shopping sales (Co.opOnline website) reaching 100% of the set target. Particularly, the Tet gift basket sales exceeded expectations, reaching 185%.

During the Lunar New Year 2024, Saigon Co.op organized more than 250 mobile sales trips to provide stable-priced goods to industrial parks and remote areas. It also collaborated with government agencies to organize the second “Happiness Bus” event. Saigon Co.op continued to organize “zero VND supermarket” to serve essential Tet goods to those in need and organized several discounted shopping sessions for low-income workers.

In 2023, despite the difficulties in the global and domestic economy, Saigon Co.op made efforts to develop 2 new Co.opmarts (in Chợ Mới district – An Giang province and Cái Bè district – Tiền Giang province) along with 44 new retail points (Co.op Food, Co.op Smile).

Mr. Vu Anh Khoa – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saigon Co.op – expressed the determination to implement programs, events, and targets in 2024, aiming to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Saigon Co.op establishment.

Deputy chairman highly appreciated Saigon Co.op’s role in actively supporting the city in implementing the policies and directions of the Party and the State, and wished Saigon Co.op success in the new year.
