Ms. Hoa (30 years old, Hung Yen) said that she has been selling pomelo flowers in Hanoi for over a decade. This morning, she brought 8kg of pomelo flowers to sell, and when they were sold out, she went back to get more. The pomelo flower season usually lasts from around the 10th day to the end of the Lunar January. Whenever it rains or becomes damp, many people like to buy this kind of flower to make their homes fragrant.
Most people buy pomelo flowers to light incense, go to temples, especially on the full moon day of the Lunar January.
According to the sellers, among the pomelo flowers currently sold in the market, the Dien pomelo has the highest price, starting from 500,000 VND/kg. However, due to this high price, the sales of the pomelo flower are slower than the sour pomelo flower, and few people import them for sale.
On average, pomelo flowers cost from 250,000 to 350,000 VND/kg, depending on the type and if they meet a high-demand customer, they can go up to 450,000-500,000 VND/kg.
Ms. Nhung (Ba Dinh, Hanoi) said: “Pomelo flowers only have one season, so I take the opportunity to buy flowers to put on the ancestral altar to light incense on the full moon day of the Lunar January. Besides the flowers on the altar, I also buy a bunch of pomelo flowers, put them in a short vase in the living room for a fragrant atmosphere throughout the house”.
Pomelo flowers are often bought to go to temples, light incense, soak in tea, soak, arrange for fragrance or wash hair.
Despite the high price, pomelo flowers are still highly sought after, many customers buy them to send to the South or abroad.
In Hanoi, every season has its own flowers, after the peach blossom phase is fading and the apricot blossom phase is ending, the people of the capital city prefer to enjoy pomelo flowers until the end of the Lunar January.
