Recently, many users of Apple Vision Pro in the US have shared on the social media platform Reddit about the appearance of a crack on the front glass of their VR/AR glasses.

They also noted that this “surprise” occurred without them knowing the cause.

According to the technology news website Apple Insider, Vision Pro is a product manufactured with very high mechanical precision, especially its front glass which is made from a single piece of glass and functions as a common lens for the internal cameras.

This high precision leaves little tolerance space, and according to experts from the news site, this could be the reason why the glass cracks right in the center.

Based on the fact that many users reported that this happened after they charged their Vision Pro overnight, Apple Insider hypothesizes that it may be due to the glass being placed in an enclosed location and the charging causing overheating, leading to the expansion of the glass and the appearance of cracks at its weakest point.

It is also worth noting that there are still no reports of similar incidents on Apple’s support forum or on the X/Twitter social media platform.

However, some users who encountered this issue have said that when they contacted Apple Support, they were informed that they would have to pay $300 for repairs if AppleCare service is available.

And if they don’t have AppleCare, the cost could go up to $800.

Apple Insider notes that the tech giant Apple has yet to comment on the issue unless there is a significant demand from users.

And the advice from the technology news website to Vision Pro users who are concerned about this issue – even if it hasn’t happened yet – is to call Apple Support and ask them to check for any device malfunctions.

And if the glass suddenly encounters a problem, remember exactly what you did before the cracks appeared and share it with them.

If this crack becomes a common problem among the approximately 200,000 Vision Pro glasses, Apple may have to initiate a special program to repair it.
