The “Harvest Festival of Sustainable Potato Production and Consumption Model 2024” and “Workshop on Performance Evaluation 2023 and Proposal for 2024 Plan of the PPP Working Group on Fruits and Vegetables” took place on February 27 in Gia Lai Province, marking an important milestone in the strategic relationship between the two entities.
Accordingly, the cooperation in building a sustainable potato production model between Yara Vietnam and PepsiCo Foods Vietnam is not only an act of commitment but also considered a comprehensive strategy in the field of agriculture. Applying the YaraSuna organic fertilizer model to potatoes not only contributes to improving soil structure and maintaining ecological balance but also combines with reasonable mineral fertilizer solutions to create an optimal agricultural production model in terms of productivity, soil health improvement, and environmental protection.
Both companies will conduct research on nutrition solutions based on Yara fertilizer products to ensure high productivity and quality of potatoes. The sustainable potato cultivation model of Yara Vietnam and PepsiCo Foods Vietnam will make an important contribution to improving the income of the community, promoting local economic development, and supporting larger goals of sustainable food security. Furthermore, the parties will seek and expand potato cultivation areas in suitable geographical locations, ensuring the source of raw materials and maintaining the stability of the agricultural ecosystem, creating a stable and flexible supply chain.
In addition, Yara Vietnam and PepsiCo Foods Vietnam jointly implement training and knowledge transfer activities related to plant nutrition and sustainable cultivation methods for the farming community. This ensures that all farmers are equipped with the necessary knowledge to implement advanced and high-performance cultivation techniques, enabling them to have a deeper understanding of the impact of nutrition solutions on the productivity and quality of agricultural products.
According to Ms. Tran Ngoc Thanh Truc – General Manager of Yara Vietnam: “The cooperation between Yara Vietnam and PepsiCo Foods Vietnam will create consensus on a sustainable agriculture model in the potato farming community. This model not only brings economic benefits to farmers through increased productivity and product quality but also opens up opportunities for them to participate in a modern agricultural system, while ensuring gender equality with the involvement of female farmers and encouraging systematization in the transfer of knowledge and techniques”.
At the event, Yara Vietnam also shared its goals, set specific commitments and actions to “Create a green environment for sustainable food security” by introducing advanced nutrition solutions YaraSuna.
The YaraSuna organic fertilizer model for potatoes is implemented on the farmland of PepsiCo Foods, emphasizing not only the application of a specific solution but also demonstrating the positive and practical effects that YaraSuna organic fertilizer has on the soil and crops.
With raw materials carefully selected in Vietnam combined with European production technology, YaraSuna organic fertilizer, when harmoniously combined with inorganic fertilizers, will help farmers improve soil health, increase crop productivity, thereby contributing to creating a sustainable agriculture sector in Vietnam.
