State budget tax revenues reach 24.3% of the projected amount over the past two months.

On the afternoon of March 1st, the General Department of Taxation announced that the total state budget revenue in the first two months of 2024, collected by the tax authority, reached 361,672 billion VND, equivalent to 24.3% of the budget estimate and 112.9% compared to the same period in 2023.

According to the General Department of Taxation, 53 out of 63 localities have had an increase in revenue compared to the same period in 2023, while 10 out of the 63 localities have had lower total revenue than the same period in 2023. 37 out of 63 localities have achieved a satisfactory implementation progress (over 20%); and 26 out of 63 localities have achieved low revenue progress (below 20%).

As of the end of February, the tax authorities have issued 3,017 decisions on value-added tax refunds with a total refund amount of VND 21,687 trillion, accounting for 12.7% of the estimated value-added tax refund for the year 2024.

The General Department of Taxation also disclosed that by the current time, 84 foreign water suppliers have registered and been granted tax identification numbers through the Electronic Information Portal. Among them, 67 foreign water suppliers have declared and paid taxes in accordance with the legal provisions. Cumulatively for the first two months of 2024, the total amount of tax paid by foreign water suppliers is VND 2,030 trillion.

In order to fulfill the budget management tasks as directed by the Government, the Prime Minister, and the Ministry of Finance, since the beginning of the year, the entire tax industry has launched a movement to strive to complete the state budget revenue target for 2024; implementing synchronized and resolute measures to strengthen revenue management, combat revenue loss, and promote administrative procedure reform to facilitate businesses and taxpayers.

In addition, strong application of information technology, inspection, and examination are also being carried out; enhancing communication, dialogue, and resolving difficulties for taxpayers.
