Khánh Hòa: Package related to Thuận An Group encounters obstacles due to land clearance issues
On July 10, at a press conference on the socio-economic situation of Khanh Hoa province in the second quarter of 2024, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Chief of Office and Spokesperson of the Provincial People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa, said that the locality had reviewed the packages related to Thuân An Joint Stock Group (Thuân An Group). Due to land clearance issues, the Thuân An Group has not started construction up to now. Through working with the functional agencies of Khanh Hoa province, the group has decided not to continue implementing the package in Khanh Hoa.

The People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province has requested the Project Management Unit 7 under the Ministry of Transport and the Project Management Unit for Transport Construction Works of Khanh Hoa province to inspect, monitor, and work with the contractors to promptly resolve any problems, difficulties, and obstacles to ensure construction progresses as scheduled and meets the required quality standards. The goal is to put these projects into operation and exploitation according to the planned schedule.
The construction package number 2 of the Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot Expressway, which was implemented by the Thuân An Group, has the lowest construction rate due to land clearance issues.
To ensure the progress of key transport projects, the province of Khanh Hoa also assigned the districts and towns of Van Ninh, Ninh Hòa, Diên Khánh, and Khanh Vinh, along with the Project Management Unit for Transport Construction Works of Khanh Hoa province, to resolutely solve site clearance issues and urgently organize the relocation of technical infrastructure works (especially the high-voltage power system)…
The Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot Expressway project, phase 1, has a total investment of about VND 5,632 billion, with the implementation period from 2022 to 2027.
According to the investor’s report, 9 out of 10 packages have been completed so far. Among these, 5/10 packages were awarded through a special mechanism, 2/10 packages through abbreviated bidding, and 2/10 packages through domestic open bidding. The package for construction norms has been temporarily halted, awaiting the establishment of new norms.
