Reports indicate that Viettel Global’s sales and service revenue reached nearly VND 8,700 billion, a 27% increase from Q2 2023. This surpasses the global telecommunications growth rate of 6% (as per GSMA). Viettel Global has consistently achieved growth for ten consecutive quarters compared to the same period in 2023. This quarter also marks the highest revenue ever for the Corporation.
In Q2, all nine markets experienced significant growth. Lumitel in Burundi grew by 32%, Unitel in Laos by 30%, Movitel in Mozambique by 23%, Mytel in Myanmar by 21%, Natcom in Haiti by 18%, and Telemor in East Timor by 15%. These are impressive achievements for the company.
Notably, the electronic wallet companies demonstrated remarkable growth as well. M_mola in Mozambique increased by 136%, U-money in Laos by 53%, Halopesa in Tanzania by 35%, and Lumicash in Burundi by 25%. These figures showcase the success of Viettel Global’s diverse ventures.
In May 2024, Movitel (Viettel’s brand in Mozambique) climbed to the number one market share position, marking the seventh market where Viettel Global holds the top spot. For 2024, the Corporation aims to maintain double-digit growth, with traditional telecommunications growth exceeding 10% and non-telecommunications services growing by 20-30%.
Viettel Global is committed to a business expansion strategy that focuses on both depth and breadth. In terms of depth, to ensure sustainable and efficient development, Viettel Global maintains its number one position while continuously expanding new services in the market. These include Data Center, Cloud, e-wallet, and digital utility services for governments and citizens. As for breadth, Viettel Global explores new markets and investment opportunities upon invitations from various nations.
