The Capital City’s 22 New Streets: A Fresh Direction for Hanoi

The Hanoi People's Committee has unveiled plans to rename and adjust the length of several roads and streets within the city. In 2024, 22 roads will be given new names, with 3 others undergoing length adjustments. Additionally, two new public works projects will be named and established within the city. These changes are part of Hanoi's ongoing efforts to modernize and improve the city's infrastructure and transportation network.

The Hanoi People’s Committee issued Decision No. 3967/QD-UBND on July 31, 2024, regarding the naming and length adjustment of several roads, streets, and public works in Hanoi for 2024. The decision took effect immediately.

The Trinh Tiet village road is clean and beautiful.

The Hanoi People’s Committee assigned the Department of Culture and Sports to coordinate with departments, branches, mass organizations of the city, the People’s Committees of districts and counties, and relevant units to propagate and guide the implementation of boundary demarcation and the erection of nameplates for 22 newly named roads and streets, 3 roads and streets with length adjustments, and 2 newly named public works in the city.

The 22 newly named roads and streets are as follows:

Phuong Bai Street (Ha Dong District): 880m long, 7-9m wide

Dong Dau Street (Ha Dong District): 1,260m long, 5-7m wide

Hoang Trinh Thanh Street (Ha Dong District): 1,090m long, 18m wide

Nguyen Van Luyen Street (Ha Dong District): 2,000m long, 40m wide

Cu Khoi Street (Long Bien District): 1,250m long, 25m wide

Hoa Dong Street (Long Bien District): 8,30m long, 13.5m wide

Nguyen Gia Bong Street (Long Bien District): 1,780m long, 40m wide

Dong Thanh Street (Long Bien District): 620m long, 13.5m wide

Quan Tinh Street (Long Bien District): 500m long, 13.5m wide

Vo Trung Street (Long Bien District): 500m long, 13.5m wide

Ly Dam Nghien Street (Hoai Duc District): 1,260m long, 9.5-12.5m wide

Trieu Tuc Street (Hoai Duc District): 2,000m long, 16.5m wide

Phu Luu Te Street (My Duc District): 2,430m long, 6-11m wide

My Ha Street (My Duc District): 3,000m long, 6-8m wide

Sat No Street (My Duc District): 4,690m long, 6-8m wide

Ha Xa Street (My Duc District): 430m long, 7-8m wide

Trung Nghia Street (My Duc District): 3,000m long, 7m wide

Trinh Tiet Street (My Duc District): 540m long, 7.5-8m wide

Thuong Tiet Street (My Duc District): 2,170m long, 7-9m wide

Tran Thi Bac Street (Soc Son District): 620m long, 10m wide

Quang Liet Street (Thanh Tri District): 1,140m long, 16m wide

Phuong Dung Street (Thanh Tri District): 2,750m long, 20m wide

In addition, the length of three streets has been adjusted: Huynh Thuc Khang Street (Dong Da District) from the end of Huynh Thuc Khang Street at the intersection of Nguyen Chi Thanh and Huynh Thuc Khang to the intersection of Cau Giay Street at the Icon4 Tower, with a length of 1,290m and a width of 30m (road width of 15m and sidewalk width of 7.5m on each side);

90 meters of Pao Dai Lang Street (Dong Da District) from the intersection of Nguyen Chi Thanh and Huynh Thuc Khang to No. 8 Pao Dai Lang (in front of the Meteorological and Hydrological Center), with a width of 30m;

Le Mat Street (Long Bien District) from the end of Le Mat Street (next to Le Mat Communal House and Temple) to the intersection of Dao Dinh Luyen Street (next to No. 15, Ward 8, Viet Hung Ward), with a length of 460m and a width of 13.5m (road width of 7.5m and sidewalk width of 3m on each side).

Two public works were also named: Long Bien Park (Long Bien District) in Viet Hung Ward, Long Bien District (in front of the headquarters of Long Bien District People’s Committee), and Ngoc Thuy Park (Long Bien District) in Ngoc Thuy and Thuong Thanh Wards, Long Bien District.
