Lamborghini has unveiled its latest addition to the fleet, the Temerario, a plug-in hybrid V8 powerhouse that surpasses its predecessor, the Huracan, by a significant 45% in terms of performance. With a mighty 789 horsepower and 730Nm of torque, the Temerario’s 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine is a force to be reckoned with, leaving the Huracan’s 5.2L V10 engine in the dust.
But that’s not all; when combined with its three electric motors, the Temerario’s total system output climbs to an astonishing 907 horsepower. Two motors on the front axle provide all-wheel drive capability and enable temporary electric-only driving for urban environments, while a third motor between the V8 and the new 8-speed gearbox acts as a starter generator and boosts torque by an additional 300Nm to minimize turbo lag.
While the Temerario’s weight of 1,690 kg is a notable increase over the Huracan due to its new hybrid system, it still manages to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, 0.2 seconds quicker than its predecessor.
Design-wise, the Temerario bears a striking resemblance to its bigger brother, the Revuelto, with its arrow-shaped silhouette and centrally-mounted rear exhaust. However, the Temerario’s front and side intakes are more subtle, and its LED headlights run horizontally across the front instead of sweeping back towards the rear fenders.
The Temerario also differs from the Revuelto in terms of its construction; while the Revuelto boasts a carbon fiber chassis, the Temerario utilizes an aluminum chassis similar to the Huracan. With a wheelbase of 2,658 mm, it is 121 mm shorter than the Revuelto but 38 mm longer than the Huracan, providing slightly more legroom and headroom for taller drivers who wish to wear helmets while on the track.
The Temerario’s interior is nearly identical to that of the Revuelto, featuring a customizable digital instrument cluster, a vertical central touchscreen, and a flat-bottom steering wheel. It also comes equipped with three Lamborghini Vision Unit cameras, allowing drivers to record their track experiences from different angles, including the driver’s viewpoint and a rear-facing shot through the windshield.
While Lamborghini has not yet announced the price of the Temerario, it is expected to be significantly higher than the Huracan’s $250,000 price tag. Prospective owners should be prepared to invest at least $300,000 (approximately 7.5 billion VND) to get their hands on this high-performance hybrid supercar.
No Lamborghini will be weaker than 1,300 horsepower after this change, but something important has to be compromised.
Lamborghini has set very clear and strict standards for itself to not compromise its brand image in the era of electrification.
The Vietnamese Business that Said ‘No’ to Lamborghini.
“The renowned Italian automobile manufacturer, Lamborghini, made a surprising proposal to a Vietnamese enterprise. They offered a collaboration to export tiles under the prestigious brand name, ‘Lamborghini Handmade Tile’. However, in an unexpected turn of events, the Vietnamese company declined the opportunity. This decision left many wondering about the potential impact on the industry and the reasons behind such a bold move.”
