On August 31, regarding a labor dispute at the Hoa Khanh – Danang Weaving Joint Stock Company (Hoa Khanh IZ, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City), the Da Nang City Labor Federation (LDLD) said that after 5 working days, the Lien Chieu District People’s Court had issued 62 judgments, accepting all the requests of the plaintiffs, represented by the High-tech Park and Da Nang Industrial Zones Trade Union.

Prior to the labor dispute, the Da Nang LDLD directed the High-tech Park and Industrial Zones Trade Union to cover all expenses and legal procedures related to claiming the workers’ rights. Additionally, the Trade Union provided partial financial support for the workers’ transportation needs.
Le Thi Ngoc Oanh, Head of the Legal Policy and Labor Relations Department (Da Nang LDLD), stated that during the trial, the Trade Union represented the workers and demanded that the Hoa Khanh – Danang Weaving Joint Stock Company promptly pay all outstanding wages and severance allowances once the judgment takes effect.

The total amount ordered by the Lien Chieu District People’s Court to be paid by the company was over VND 1.9 billion, including over VND 314 million in wages and more than VND 1.6 billion in severance allowances.
“We are delighted to have fulfilled our duty in assisting the 62 workers in winning their case,” said the Head of the Legal Policy and Labor Relations Department. “This positive outcome is a testament to the tireless efforts of the Trade Union and the cooperation of the workers over the past two years. It also reinforces the Trade Union’s commitment to protecting the rights and legitimate interests of laborers.”
According to Le Van Dai, Vice Chairman of the City LDLD, if the defendant does not appeal within 30 days from the date of the verdict, the judgment will come into force. The Trade Union officials will continue to provide support until the workers receive their full entitlements as per the law, Mr. Dai affirmed.
