On the afternoon of the 5th of September, the Nhon Trach District People’s Council of the 6th term organized its 14th meeting – a special meeting to elect the Chairman of the District People’s Committee for the term 2021 – 2026.
At the meeting, all 30 out of 34 People’s Council delegates present cast their votes in favor of Mr. Nguyen The Phong, the Vice Secretary of the Nhon Trach Party Committee and the acting Chairman of the District People’s Committee, to become the official Chairman of the Nhon Trach District People’s Committee for the term 2021 – 2026.

Mr. Nguyen The Phong, the newly elected Chairman, expressed his gratitude to the People’s Council delegates for their trust and support. He pledged to set an example for others by being pioneering, dedicated, and responsible in his work, while also staying close to the people. He aims to foster unity within the District People’s Committee and effectively implement the resolutions of the Provincial Party Committee, the District Party Committee, and the People’s Council. This includes the goal of achieving the status of a third-tier city by 2025 and a second-tier city by 2030, with the vision of transforming Nhon Trach into a modern industrial and port city.
Just a day before, Mr. Nguyen The Phong was approved by the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board to hold the position of Vice Secretary of the Nhon Trach Party Committee for the term 2020 – 2025.
During this meeting, the People’s Council also approved the resignation of Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong, the former Vice Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the District People’s Committee of the 6th term, from her position as a People’s Council delegate for the term 2021 – 2026.
