VOV reporters have observed a series of unauthorized constructions, including pig farms, concrete mixing stations, warehouses, and workshops, built on agricultural land under Binh Than Bridge. These structures remain operational despite their illegal status.

The People’s Committee of Bac Ninh Province has issued an urgent directive to address this situation and enforce necessary inspections and remedial actions.

Previously, VOV’s reporters had scheduled a meeting with the People’s Committee of Gia Binh District several days in advance, but have not yet received a specific response. The only information provided by the Chief of Office of Gia Binh District’s People’s Committee was that the district is coordinating with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Ninh Province to inspect and handle the situation.

A pig farm, illegally constructed, lies in ruins. Previously, rising water levels in the Duong River had caused the farm to flood, necessitating the relocation of pigs from the area to prevent losses.

The land used for the pig farm and concrete mixing station was originally agricultural land.

A series of unauthorized constructions suffered roof damage due to the impact of Storm No. 3.

Numerous bags, suspected to contain dead animal carcasses, were left scattered after the floods, posing a significant environmental hazard to the surrounding water bodies.

The rising water levels in the Duong River also affected nearby residents, causing their homes to flood.

The concrete mixing station and construction material storage yard at the foot of the bridge obstruct flood escape routes. Moreover, the frequent presence of heavy tanker trucks under the bridge impacts the bridge’s structural integrity.

Binh Than Bridge spans the Duong River, connecting Van Ninh commune in Gia Binh district and Duc Long commune in Que Vo town. The project’s total investment exceeded VND 1,635 billion, and it was constructed between 2012 and 2016. The bridge has a total length of 1,659.7 meters, with a branch bridge spanning over 370 meters. The bridge’s width is 16 meters, and the approach roads range from 8 to 11 meters in width.
