In the afternoon of the same day, the People’s Committee of Lao Cai Province, in collaboration with Vietnam Television, officially started the construction of the new resettlement area, Lang Nu Village, in Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district.

The first phase of the Lang Nu Resettlement Area is being built in the Sim Hill area, covering approximately 10 hectares, allocating around 1,000 square meters per household. Forty houses will be constructed with two stories (8×12 meters each) and designed in the traditional stilt house style of the Tay ethnic group, along with auxiliary works such as kitchens and toilets.

Additionally, the resettlement area will include the construction of a cultural house, schools, and infrastructure facilities (roads, electricity, water supply, etc.) to ensure stable and long-term living conditions for the residents.

The cost of constructing houses and auxiliary works in the Lang Nu Resettlement Area is sponsored by the Vietnam Foundation for the Heart, under Vietnam Television. The construction will be undertaken by Brigade 12 – Construction Corporation of Truong Son Corporation.

The construction and reconstruction of Lang Nu Village is an extremely important political task, which must be completed by December 31, 2024, as directed by the General Secretary, President, and Prime Minister.

After the groundbreaking ceremony, Brigade 12 will promptly commence construction to complete the resettlement area as soon as possible.

Earlier on the same day, the People’s Committee of Lao Cai province, in collaboration with the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, organized a groundbreaking ceremony for the reconstruction of the Kho Vang residential area in Coc Lau commune, Bac Ha district.

Vietnam Oil and Gas Group is the main unit supporting the funding for the construction of the resettlement area, covering approximately 3.5 hectares, accommodating about 40 households. Each apartment will have an area of about 350 square meters, along with auxiliary works and cultural institutions to serve the residents’ lives.

The design of the houses in the resettlement area ensures that they meet the living needs and cultural practices of the people. The location of the resettlement area was chosen based on the feedback of the residents, ensuring proximity to their previous homes and safety.

Immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony, the construction units will focus on accelerating the progress, organizing construction in three shifts and four groups. They are determined to complete the entire project by December 31, providing new homes for the residents.
