Hyundai’s upcoming 2024 Tucson has been spotted on the streets of Hanoi, Vietnam, and images of the unveiled car are spreading across social media. The car’s design is consistent with the models sold in some foreign markets, suggesting an imminent launch in Vietnam towards the end of 2024. Some Hyundai dealers have started taking pre-orders for the new Tucson, indicating an expected release in October or November. The SUV will continue to be assembled in Vietnam by TC Motor.

As a mid-cycle refresh, the 2024 Tucson receives subtle styling updates. The front end is bolder, featuring a redesigned grille and a more robust bumper. The LED daytime running lights have also been tweaked to create a distinctive look.

Inside, the Tucson boasts a sleek, modern dashboard with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a matching 12.3-inch central infotainment screen. The new steering wheel features a three-spoke design and omits the Hyundai logo, similar to the Ioniq 5 electric car. The shift knob is now located behind the wheel, akin to the recently launched 2024 Santa Fe.

Details about the powertrain options for the Vietnamese market are not yet available, but they are likely to mirror those of the previous model. The Tucson is expected to offer a choice of 2.0-liter naturally aspirated gasoline, 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline, and 2.0-liter diesel engines. Transmission options include a 6-speed automatic, a 7-speed dual-clutch, and an 8-speed automatic.
This differs from the strategy used for the larger Santa Fe, which gained a new 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine while dropping the diesel option entirely.
The Hyundai Tucson is one of the most popular crossovers in Vietnam. Through August 2024, Hyundai sold 3,034 units of the Tucson in Vietnam, ranking third in the C-SUV segment behind the Ford Territory (4,262 units) and the Mazda CX-5 (7,384 units).
