According to reports from Vietnamese airlines to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, in the coming time, the airlines plan to receive and lease additional aircraft to their existing fleet.

Vietnam Airlines is expected to receive three more aircraft, including two A320s and one B787-10.

Vietjet Air plans to receive eight A321 aircraft and two E190 aircraft. The E190s will serve the Hanoi-Con Dao route, which has been temporarily suspended after Bamboo Airways returned the aircraft as part of its restructuring.

Bamboo Airways and Vietravel Airlines are also planning to increase their aircraft to match their operational capabilities and market development needs…

The new aircraft will enhance preparations for the latter part of 2024 and the upcoming Tet holiday in 2025.

Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air are the two largest domestic carriers, accounting for over 76% of the market share in 2023.
