On October 17th, the Quang Ngai Province People’s Committee Office announced that it had received a document from FLC Group requesting reimbursement for expenses incurred regarding projects in the Van Tuong New Urban Area, Binh Son District.

According to the document sent to Quang Ngai Province, FLC Group, in collaboration with several joint-stock companies, invested in six projects within the Van Tuong Urban Area. These projects, spanning over 137 hectares, entailed various legal procedures, including land surveys, detailed planning, environmental impact assessments, and fire safety certifications, among others. The total cost incurred by the investors exceeded VND 80.5 billion.

The investors willingly returned the projects to the province, as per the province’s request, to facilitate the selection of new investors through a proper process. The relevant authorities in Quang Ngai Province agreed to terminate the projects in accordance with the law.

However, more than a year has passed since the voluntary project return, and FLC Group has not received any information, response, or guidance regarding reimbursement for the expenses incurred. The amount of VND 80.5 billion is substantial and crucial for the group and the companies, given the current context.

FLC Group affirmed that until there is a plan to reimburse the above amount to the investors, Quang Ngai Province cannot organize the selection of new investors to continue the related projects.

The group expressed confidence in its ability to restart the projects, bringing economic benefits to FLC and contributing to the province’s development. Additionally, FLC Group wishes for Quang Ngai to introduce other potential projects, especially in the fields of tourism, real estate, and infrastructure.
