In a recent interview, Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, Deputy Director of the Bac Giang Province’s Department of Transportation, shared insights about the Dong Viet Bridge project in Yen Dung District. According to Mr. Manh, the project is under the management of the Board of Directors for Transportation and Agricultural Projects in the province. Contractors are focused on construction, with bridge paving anticipated to commence on October 18, aiming for substantial completion by December 31.
The leadership of the People’s Committee of Bac Giang Province further emphasized their commitment to the Dong Viet Bridge project. They revealed that the province’s leaders have been directing relevant agencies to extend their support to the construction units, ensuring that the bridge construction proceeds as per schedule and technical specifications.
The project has encountered challenges with land clearance for the bridge approach, which remains incomplete due to some households constructing houses on agricultural land. This week, a vice chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Giang Province is expected to collaborate with relevant parties to address these issues and accelerate the progress of the Dong Viet Bridge project.
According to the reporter’s investigation, the Dong Viet Bridge is the first and largest cable-stayed bridge in Bac Giang Province, connecting it with Hai Duong Province. The project entails a total investment of nearly VND 1,500 billion. The Thuân An Corporation is one of the two joint ventures involved in the project, undertaking construction work valued at over VND 800 billion.
