According to the Master Plan for the period of 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister: Thai Nguyen Province aims to promote all potentials and resources for rapid, comprehensive, and sustainable development.

Striving to become one of the leading developed provinces in the North; by 2050, it aims to meet the standards to become a centrally-governed city.

To achieve these goals, Thai Nguyen Province has planned and implemented numerous key projects and constructions, with investments ranging from hundreds of billions to trillions of VND. Some notable examples include: Inter-provincial Road, New Thai Nguyen Stadium, Quang Vinh 1 and 2 Bridges, and Tay Pho Yen Industrial-Urban-Service Area…

Upon completion, these projects and constructions will transform the face of Thai Nguyen Province. Simultaneously, they will significantly contribute to the province’s progress towards its set goals.

Below are details of some representative projects:

Inter-provincial Road

To boost socio-economic development, Thai Nguyen Province has embarked on constructing an inter-provincial road connecting Thai Nguyen with Bac Giang and Vinh Phuc. This road is 42 km long and has a total investment of VND 3,800 billion.

The project commenced in May 2022 and is expected to be completed by November 2024. To date, many sections of the inter-provincial road have been substantially completed.

In the near future, when the inter-provincial road is opened to traffic, it will enhance transportation capacity and reduce travel time. Simultaneously, it will facilitate the formation of several key high-tech industrial zones and breakthrough industries.

New Thai Nguyen Stadium

The New Thai Nguyen Stadium project, with a total investment of VND 535 billion, commenced construction in December 2022. It will serve as a catalyst for sports and urban development in Thai Nguyen.

The New Thai Nguyen Stadium covers an area of 15 hectares and is designed with a capacity of 22,000 seats, featuring a modern roof. It ensures the area of a standard international football field. Upon completion, it will become the largest stadium in the Northern Midland and Mountainous region (14 provinces).

After approximately two years of construction, by November 2024, many items of the Thai Nguyen Stadium have taken shape and are gradually being completed. According to the plan, the project will be carried out until the end of the second quarter of 2025. However, the investor and contractor are determined to complete it by the end of 2024.

Quang Vinh 1 Bridge and Quang Vinh 2 Bridge (ready to commence)

Quang Vinh 1 Bridge, Quang Vinh 2 Bridge, and the connecting road system were approved by the Provincial People’s Council of Thai Nguyen with a total investment of nearly VND 1,600 billion (from the local budget). This is a Group B project, with the Project Management Board for Construction Investment of Thai Nguyen City as the investor’s representative.

It is expected that the construction of Quang Vinh 1 Bridge and Quang Vinh 2 Bridge will commence simultaneously in December 2024. Once completed, the bridges will contribute to the completion of the provincial road network of Thai Nguyen, promoting the socio-economic development of the city and the region.

Tay Pho Yen Industrial-Urban-Service Area (planned)

In July 2023, the Provincial People’s Council of Thai Nguyen passed a resolution on the master plan for the construction of the Tay Pho Yen Industrial-Urban-Service Area until 2045, with a scale of up to 11.2 km2.

With its massive scale, if realized, this will be the largest industrial-urban-service area in Thai Nguyen Province. Simultaneously, it will create numerous job opportunities and bring about a shift in the province’s labor structure.

Currently, there is limited information available regarding the construction timeline of the Tay Pho Yen Industrial-Urban-Service Area. To expedite the project’s realization, in the upcoming time, Pho Yen City will actively coordinate with departments, sectors, and units to develop a plan for the approved master plan.
