The People’s Committee of District 3 has issued a decision to enforce land retrieval from Mr. V.K.T and Mrs. V.T.H.T, who are currently occupying 46.23 square meters of land, which is a part of Lot 13, Lot No. 07 on the District 10, District 3’s land map, located at 356 Cach Mang Thang Tam, Ward 10, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City.
The enforcement will take place between December 2nd and December 11th, 2024. The People’s Committee of Ward 10 is responsible for delivering this decision to Mr. V.K.T and Mrs. V.T.H.T, as well as publicly posting it at the Ward 10 office, Ward 10 Neighborhood 2 bulletin board, Ward 13 office, and Ward 13 Neighborhood 4 common area.
The District 3 Office, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Construction, District Inspectorate, District Police, and Project Management Unit 2 of the Urban Railway Management Board, together with the People’s Committees of Wards 10 and 13, and other concerned units, will carry out the land retrieval in accordance with regulations.
Metro 2 spans six districts
The costs of enforcement will be covered by the district budget, while any expenses incurred for property preservation during the enforcement process will be borne by Mr. V.K.T and Mrs. V.T.H.T as per regulations.
According to the District 3 authorities, the Compensation, Support, and Resettlement Project for the construction of the Metro Line 2, Ben Thanh – Tham Luong route, has affected 112 cases, involving land retrieval. So far, 111 out of 112 cases (99.1%) have received compensation and handed over the site to the investor for construction and relocation of technical infrastructure.
The failure of the remaining household to hand over the site not only affects the overall progress of the project but also causes damage and social impact.
With the issuance of this enforcement decision, the local authorities will complete the site handover to the investor for the Metro 2 project before December 15, 2024.
The 11-kilometer-long Metro Line 2 includes a 9-kilometer underground section and a 2-kilometer elevated section, with 10 stations (9 underground). The line passes through six districts: 1, 3, 10, 12, Tan Binh, and Tan Phu.
Currently, the land retrieval rate for Metro Line 2 stands at 98.6% (577 out of 585 cases). The local authorities are in the process of completing land retrieval procedures for the remaining cases to promptly conclude this work.
