Recent images, believed to be prototypes of the iPhone SE 4, have surfaced on Sonny Dickson’s account (a reliable source for pre-release iPhone images) on Platform X.

The dummy model images showcase a design reminiscent of the iPhone 16, featuring sharp, square edges and two basic color options: white and black. The frame is made of flat aluminum, with a glass back and a single rear camera.

Notably, the rear design is fairly simplistic, featuring only a single camera, a microphone, and an LED flash.

Leaked images of the iPhone SE 4’s side reveal volume buttons, a silent switch, and a physical SIM card slot.

Although clear images of the front are not yet available, leaks suggest that Apple will replace Touch ID with Face ID, marking a significant design evolution for the iPhone SE series.

However, the device appears to lack the Action or Camera Control button, a staple hardware feature on other iPhone models.

With its distinctive design, Apple’s new smartphone has drawn comparisons to the iconic iPhone 4, a groundbreaking product released by Apple back in 2010, now a full 15 years ago.

According to rumors, this affordable Apple Intelligence device is expected to feature the A17 Pro chip, 8 GB of RAM, a 6.1-inch LTPS OLED display, and a 12 MP TrueDepth front camera. The rear camera is rumored to receive a significant upgrade, boasting a 48-megapixel resolution, similar to the current iPhone 16.

The model is also speculated to be the first iPhone to utilize Apple’s in-house designed wireless connectivity modem. Although commonly referred to as the iPhone SE 4, there are rumors that Apple may name it the iPhone 16E instead.

With an anticipated price point below $500 and a projected launch in late Q1 2025, the iPhone SE 4 promises to deliver an appealing combination of performance and affordability, sure to delight consumers seeking a powerful device at a reasonable cost.

The iPhone SE, first introduced by Apple in March 2016, represents a “Special Edition” variant of the iPhone, offering a cost-effective option for consumers eager to experience Apple’s technology without breaking the bank.

Apple’s strategy with the iPhone SE seems to be focused on attracting a broader customer base by providing a more accessible entry point into the Apple ecosystem. By reusing older designs and components, Apple can keep costs down while still offering a diverse range of products to meet varying consumer needs and preferences.
