The Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and Environment has recently announced the results of an inspection into 10 mineral exploitation units in Hoa Vang District, focusing on their compliance with legal regulations.

Of these, four units were found to have extracted significant volumes of soil and stone before finalizing land lease dossiers as required by law. The total volume extracted amounted to nearly 640,000 cubic meters.

Several enterprises in Hoa Vang District have been extracting soil and stone without complete legal dossiers.

Specifically, at Bien Gioi Construction Company, inspectors found that the company had not installed a weighing station to monitor and record mineral extraction volumes from the Ong Gam Hill mine. From February to October 2020, the company extracted 105,807 cubic meters of soil before finalizing their land lease dossier.

In 2022, Bien Gioi Construction Company was sanctioned for exceeding permitted capacity and violating mine design regulations. The same year, they were also penalized for failing to install a weighing station and for inaccurate record-keeping regarding annual extraction volumes. The Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee issued a fine of 215 million VND for these infractions.

At Quang – HT Joint Stock Company (Suoi Mo 2 mine), inspectors discovered that from May 2021 to May 2022, the company had extracted 129,000 cubic meters of stone without a complete land lease dossier.

Similarly, Trung Thanh Da Nang Company (Son Phuoc mine) was found to have extracted stone without the requisite legal land documents. The total volume extracted from this mine was over 175,000 cubic meters from late 2020 to 2022.

Dong Son Hoa Ninh One-Member Limited Liability Company was also found to be extracting minerals at the Ho Luoi Meo 1 mine without the necessary land lease dossier. From June 2019 to September 2021, they extracted 228,730 cubic meters of stone. Additionally, they sublet the land to another company for mineral processing without the required land lease dossier from the competent authorities.

The Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and Environment has recommended that relevant agencies review and clarify the responsibilities of organizations and individuals regarding the aforementioned cases of mineral extraction without complete land lease dossiers.
