The meeting was attended by Comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh, Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister; Central Committee members and Deputy Prime Ministers: Tran Hong Ha, Ho Duc Phoc, Nguyen Chi Dung, and Mai Van Chinh; and leaders of ministries, sectors, and governmental agencies.
At the meeting, the Standing Committee discussed and provided opinions on the design and operational plans for the Exhibition of National Achievements with the theme “80 Years of Independence, Freedom, and Happiness” to celebrate the 80th National Day. They also discussed the overall plan to ensure the smooth running of the exhibition, including the opening and closing ceremonies, security, order, healthcare, hospitality, and other related activities.

Concluding the discussion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and fundamental completion of the plans by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, as well as related collectives and individuals.
The Prime Minister offered suggestions and opinions on specific contents for the exhibition, emphasizing the need for stronger determination, more proactive efforts, and speed in executing the tasks. He also recommended further studying and perfecting the plans to ensure the exhibition’s success.
According to the Prime Minister, the exhibition should truly be a “festival of the nation,” highlighting and easily identifying key messages, historical milestones, and iconic works of national significance. It should also affirm cultural identity, have a broad impact, and inspire the entire nation, the people, and international friends.

The Prime Minister suggested paying attention to the use of foreign languages to introduce the exhibition to international friends and creating favorable conditions for businesses and participants to promote their potential and strengths and conduct cooperation and business agreements.
With the main theme of “80 Years of Independence, Freedom, and Happiness,” the Prime Minister encouraged creativity, uniqueness, and a competitive spirit among ministries, sectors, localities, agencies, and units participating in the exhibition.
The Prime Minister also noted the importance of ensuring security, order, healthcare, hospitality, and other support services. He emphasized the need for well-organized information and guidance booths, traffic management, crowd control, fire prevention and control, rescue, catering services, environmental sanitation, landscaping, technical support, machinery and equipment, and stable electricity and water supply for the exhibition.
At the meeting, the Standing Committee also discussed and provided opinions on enhancing the leadership and improving the effectiveness of signing and implementing international agreements and commitments.
On this matter, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and related agencies to absorb the opinions, continue studying, supplementing, and completing the dossier for submission to the competent authority. He emphasized the need to clarify certain contents regarding the basis, objectives, tasks, and solutions, with a spirit of “saying and doing” and “committing and implementing,” always ensuring the national and people’s interests.
