Hanoi Airfares for the 2-9 National Day Celebration Soar in Demand
Preparations for the 80th National Day anniversary on September 2nd have been buzzing in Hanoi and several northern provinces, exciting people across the country.
Many have already booked their flights and tours to Hanoi for the long-awaited celebration. The demand for air travel to Hanoi during this period is exceptionally high, with many opting to witness the grand military parade and celebration in the capital city.
Airfares Comparable to Tet Holiday Prices
On August 8th, various airlines such as Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet, Bamboo Airways, and Vietravel Airlines offered flights for the Ho Chi Minh City-Hanoi route during the National Day celebrations. Vietnam Airlines, for instance, offered tickets starting from VND 3.79 million/trip (including taxes and fees) for a flight departing on August 30th.
For those looking for a connecting flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Cam Ranh and then to Hanoi, Vietnam Airlines offered tickets starting from VND 3.64 million/trip. Departing on August 31st (Sunday), Pacific Airlines offered tickets for as low as VND 2.8 million/trip, while Vietnam Airlines’ prices remained high at VND 3.79 million/trip.

Many have booked their flights and accommodations in Hanoi for the National Day celebrations.
Vietjet also offered return tickets for the Ho Chi Minh City-Hanoi route during the holiday, with prices starting from VND 5.4 million/passenger. Bamboo Airways joined the fray, offering tickets for the same route, but with prices soaring to VND 6.8 million/passenger for a return trip.
Overall, airfare prices for the National Day celebrations are on par with Tet Holiday prices and significantly higher than regular days. This surge in demand can be attributed to the large number of people from the southern and central provinces eager to witness the grand celebration in Hanoi.

Hanoi is the Top Destination for the National Day Holiday
According to the latest data from the Booking.com travel platform, Hanoi is the top destination for Vietnamese travelers during the National Day holiday (from August 29 to September 3, 2025). The city has risen to the top spot compared to the same period last year.
Hanoi’s appeal has grown across all types of traveler groups, leading the way in searches for family vacations (up from 14th), group trips with friends (up from 9th), couples’ getaways (up from 7th), and solo adventures (up from 2nd).
The extended National Day holiday will be marked by grand-scale events in Hanoi. Notably, there will be a preliminary parade rehearsal on August 27th, a full rehearsal on August 30th, and the official state-level military parade and celebration on September 2nd.

At the regular Government press conference on August 7th, the Ministry of Defense provided information on the preparations for the military parade and celebration to commemorate the 80th National Day anniversary.
