Billion-Dollar Dividends: Unlocking Profits for Investors
LPBank, a leading joint-stock commercial bank in Vietnam, has announced a generous cash dividend payout for its shareholders. With a dividend ratio of 25%, each share will yield 2,500 VND, resulting in a total payout of over 7.468 trillion VND. This marks the first time in six years that LPBank has distributed cash dividends, making it a highly anticipated event for investors.

The Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Corporation, holding 6.54% of LPBank’s capital, is set to receive over 488 billion VND. The exclusion date for this dividend is May 19th, with payments commencing on May 28th.
Sabeco, a prominent beverage company, has also announced its plans to distribute dividends. With a dividend ratio of 30%, they will be returning almost 3.848 trillion VND to shareholders. The exclusion date is set for June 30th, and payments are expected to begin on July 31st. This follows a previous interim dividend of 20%, bringing the total dividend for 2024 to 50%. Vietnam Beverage, Sabeco’s parent company, will receive over 3.436 trillion VND, while SCIC, with a 36% stake, is estimated to earn over 2.300 trillion VND.
Vinamilk, a leading dairy company, has approved a cash dividend of 2,000 VND per share for the remaining dividend of 2024. The registration deadline is May 15th, and the payment date is set for May 23rd. This marks the continuation of Vinamilk’s consistent cash dividend policy since 2006. The total dividend for 2024 is expected to reach 2,350 VND per share, with the final dividend of 350 VND per share anticipated in Q3 of this year. SCIC, Vinamilk’s largest shareholder with a 36% stake, is projected to earn over 1.500 trillion VND from this dividend. Foreign shareholders F&N and Platinum Victory Pte, Ltd. will also receive considerable payouts.

VEF, a prominent exhibition and convention center company, has proposed a dividend payout of 135% from accumulated profits until December 31, 2024, along with an interim dividend of 300% from Q1 2025 profits. Both dividends will be distributed in cash within six months after the annual general meeting. With over 166.6 million shares in circulation, VEF estimates a total payout of over 7.2 trillion VND. Vingroup, holding 83.32% of VEF’s capital, is set to receive approximately 6 trillion VND.
Steady Stream of Dividends
MEF, a reputable company, has announced a cash dividend of 50% for 2024, marking the second time they have distributed dividends at this ratio since 2016. With nearly 4.1 million shares in circulation, MEF is expected to pay out over 20 billion VND. From 2011 to the present, MEF has consistently maintained a dividend policy of 30-45%.
DVP, a prominent port development company, has announced plans to distribute a second dividend for 2024 in June, bringing the total dividend ratio for the year to a record-high 80%. The exclusion date for this dividend is May 30th, and the payout ratio is set at 40%. With 40 million shares in circulation, the total estimated payout for this dividend is 160 billion VND. Payments are expected to begin on June 27th. DVP previously distributed an interim dividend of 30%, and the final dividend of 10% is scheduled for September 2025. The total dividend for 2024 is estimated at 320 billion VND.

BMP, a leading plastic manufacturer, has announced a second dividend for 2024 with a payout ratio of 62.5%. The exclusion date is set for May 19th. BMP estimates a payout of approximately 511 billion VND for this dividend. In December 2024, BMP distributed an interim dividend of nearly 470 billion VND, bringing the total dividend ratio for 2024 to 119.9%. For 2025, the annual general meeting approved a minimum dividend ratio of 50% of post-tax profits.
D2D, a prominent urban development company, has announced a cash dividend of 84% for 2024. The exclusion date is set for May 22nd, with payments expected on June 10th. With over 30.2 million shares in circulation, D2D estimates a total payout of over 254 billion VND.
Week 12-16/05: A Shower of Dividends, with the Highest Yielding Over 60%
The season of annual general meetings brings a flurry of activity for listed companies, as they rush to finalize dividend distributions. This week, from May 12th to 16th, a staggering 45 businesses will be finalizing their cash dividend distributions, with rates reaching as high as 60.67%. This means that for every share owned, investors will receive 6.067 units of currency in dividends.
