Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has signed and issued Decision No. 946/QD-TTg on behalf of the Prime Minister, approving the adjustment of the Ba Na – Suoi Mo Tourist Complex project with a total investment of VND 52,000 billion (equivalent to approximately US$2 billion).

According to the Decision, the official name of the project after adjustment is the Ba Na – Suoi Mo Eco-Tourism and Urban Area Complex project.

The project will include commercial, tourism, and service facilities, over 7,000 hotel rooms, entertainment attractions, two additional cable car routes bringing the total to 10, station systems, technical and social infrastructure, and other auxiliary works.

The adjustment does not change the project’s approved boundary but modifies the items and functional areas to ensure suitability and efficiency in operation and tourism development. Previously, in the 2008–2024 period, the project’s first phase was implemented with investments from Sun Group. Sun World Ba Na Hills has become one of the tourism symbols of Danang City.

For four consecutive years, this tourist area was awarded the title of “Asia’s Leading Theme Park” by World Travel Awards (WTA). In 2020 and 2021, WTA also honored it as the “World’s Leading Iconic Tourist Destination” and “World’s Leading Iconic Bridge” for the Golden Bridge. Statistics show that seven out of ten international visitors to Danang choose to experience Ba Na Hills.

The project adjustment aims to gradually materialize the development orientations in the Planning of Danang City for the period of 2021–2030, with a vision towards 2050. According to the approved Decision, the second phase of the Ba Na – Suoi Mo Eco-Tourism and Urban Area Complex project will last for ten years from the date of investment approval.

Previously, in May 2023, the Danang City Department of Planning and Investment granted an adjusted Investment Registration Certificate for the Ba Na – Suoi Mo Eco-Tourism Complex project. The certificate adjusted the progress-related information to ensure the project’s completion time and updated the total investment to VND 39,000 billion to match the investment scale after the COVID-19 impact.
