On the morning of May 20, the Long Thanh District Land Retrieval and Clearance Force commenced enforcement against eight households in Long Duc Commune to implement the first component project of the Bien Hoa- Vung Tau Expressway Phase 1, which passes through Long Thanh District.

These were the last remaining households who had not handed over their land, despite repeated persuasion and advocacy.

These households had constructed houses on agricultural land, using informal land sale contracts without obtaining individual land use right certificates. According to legal regulations, these households do not qualify for resettlement arrangements but are given priority by the district to purchase social housing.

According to the Long Thanh People’s Committee, before proceeding with the enforcement, the Land Retrieval and Clearance Force will inventory the citizens’ assets, and the power company will discontinue electricity supply. The Force has requested the enforcement unit to allocate sufficient manpower, machinery, and equipment to ensure the completion of the enforcement on May 20.

With this, Long Thanh District will have completed land compensation and clearance for both sub-projects, Component 1 and 2, of the Bien Hoa- Vung Tau Expressway project.
